Job Role: Support & Development Worker
£12.25 per hour | 12–18 hours per week | Based at Sherwood Community Centre, Nottingham. NG5 3FN

Sherwood Community Centre offers a warm, inclusive space where people connect, learn, and take part in activities that boost wellbeing. We are seeking a friendly, organised Support & Development Worker to help us grow our activities and sustain our community work. If you enjoy working with people, have a positive attitude, and want to make a real difference locally, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role
This hands-on position supports all areas of the Centre, including community activities, volunteer support, partnerships, and fundraising projects. You’ll work directly with visitors, and local groups—helping us strengthen community connections, reduce isolation, and develop new initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate small-scale community activities and wellbeing projects.
  • Help organise community events, promotions, and outreach.
  • Build relationships with local organisations and partners.
  • Assist with fundraising activities and grant applications.
  • Produce basic reports, social media updates, and publicity materials.

 

The ideal candidate will be friendly, approachable, and confident talking to people from all backgrounds. Well-organised with good communication skills. Comfortable working independently and managing a varied workload.

Experience in fundraising, community work, or partnership building.

Contract Details

  • Part-time: 12–18 hours per week (exact hours to be agreed with the successful candidate).
  • £12.25 per hour. Initially funded for 2 years, permanent subject to future funding.
  • Appointment subject to DBS check.
